Just joined here and digging through past project photos that I thought some folks might like to see.
Made this for my wife for Valentines day recently.

Followed the Wood Magazine plans from July 2009. Was going to make this out of curly maple, but the local wood shop had some inexpensive leopard wood due to being quarter sawn and only lace figure. Always wanted to play with leopardwood and here is my effort with one board. Entire project took 6 days to complete (most was spent in finishing), which is good since I didn’t start till Feb 7. SWMBO didn’t like a clear finish I showed her on the lace figure, so I used some Solar Lux Nutmeg Brown reduced by 50% to color the wood. She also doesn’t like shiny surfaces (that show dust) so it was finished with Arm-r-Seal urethane satin. Probably spent more $ on the hardware/felt trimming/finish supplies than I would have if I bought flowers and candy; but she really liked it.

Very nice. I’ve been meaning to build something like this for the significant other, and I like this design

It’s a beautiful piece. Congratulations and welcome to Lumberjocks.

Well you sure do good work. Of course I like the work bench you posted recently. Both look really nice. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
