Project Information

I was sick and tired of having 2 reams of paper under my monitors at my office in the Newington, CT VA hospital, so I decided to make a simple yet functional and elegant stand for them. Materials used were 1/4 sheet of 3/4" Maple plywood from BORG store (Not impressed with the veneer thickness or the claim of "Void free"), about 5 lineal feet of 1/2" x 1" genuine mahogany, and Danish Oil finished topped with 3 coats of uncut Zinsser Sealcoat Sanding Sealer (Shellac), in clear. Total time to build was 3 hours using Kreg Pocket hole system, and another 2 days to coat and allow the Danish Oil to dry. Shellac took 3 hours total, and I finished the project off with 2 coats of Johnson's paste wax buffed to a high gloss. Please be gentle!
