Here are a few of my mallets… The one on the left is golden birch, the one on the right is hard maple and the one in the middle is purple heart and maple.

So far so good! I filled knots with CA glue to try an preserve their beauty and prevent them from falling out.

Thanks Jim, The carvers mallets are one of my favorite things to turn on the lathe. Simple yet beautiful and useful.

I have a mallet made from dogwood that has seen 20 years or so of use. The body split soon after making it but the split never traveled to the handle.
