I cant remember which book I got this idea from. Its a really easy and nice setup for building blast gates. Those cheap little black ones are junk, clog easily, and pretty expensive. All 1/4” ply, held together with some small bolts. Circle cut 2 holes just a bit larger than the pvc coupler pipe. Push the coupler in just far enough before any binding takes place when the gate rides in and out. Hold the coupler in place with a bead of liq nails. If you need the gate to ride a little smoother- just use some business cards as shims. They get a little tricky when it comes to mouting the whole thing on a wall, but they are fail safe when compared to the others i used.
Hope someone can use or improve on this idea..
