Serenity Now- Homemade Catamaran

Project by yosoybyrd posted 432 days ago 2280 views 1 time favorited 5 comments Add to Favorites Watch

This spring, as a freshman at Auburn University, I was bored and thought about what it would be like to be on the lake but I had no access to a boat. So I ended up drawing up plans for a boat and when I went home to birmingham for the summer me and my dad began ”Serenity Now” an 11ft homemade catamaran. Neither of us had any previous expirence in boat building but it turned out great. I’m sorry that the boat is not entirely wooden but we used the PVC to keep the weight down, an sorry but we had to paint it keep it waterproof.

There has to be a “Redneck” joke in picture where the boat is on the water. Never under-estimate the power of boredom: great build!

Wow! All you need is a waterfall! Maybe a couple of girls too! Oh, some beer and a bucket of KFC! Looks like a great time – good job!
