My 11 year old Grandson Josef helped me with this project. The hardest part was drilling the concrete for the post anchors. I finally went out and got an impact drill. The cedar posts are from 16 ft boards. It was cheaper and I got to pick. We sanded everything and used pocket screws which worked well and look good. Two coats of Olympic stain and sealer. I also use a spring loaded hinge for self closing which my little dogs hate. Most people around here use those pre-cut dog ear slats that look terrible and turn gray in a month.

BTW, I’ve never done anything like this before. Again, Happy Wife! (and Grandson)
