Apple wood wing bowl

I used this as a demo on how to turn a wingbowl at the woodworking club I am a member of. I finished the melting pot demo and had a little more time to fill. Someone was kind enough to donate an apple log 15 inches long, and this is what I did with it. It took just under an hour and is finished withe wipe on poly.

Bill, the surprise for me was the center in the overhead shot. Thanks for including that. This style has got to be a great way to get your knuckles smacked. Nice job of being steady on the steady rest. Pretty piece.

What a great looking winged bowl. It has it all, interesting grain pattern, live edge, and a classy finish.

Beautiful Piece!

I’m with Al on this. It looks like turning an air plane propeller. LOL!

ANOTHER beauty! I don’t think you have ever made an ugly project! I’ll have to ask a turner some time to show me how you turn something like that. Round, I get; curved with a scoop??? I’m clueless.
