I am an electrical engineer who was fortunate enough to become a corporate vice president of two major high tech defense firms after serving in the US Navy during the Korean War. My interest in woodworking was realized after retirement by the construction of a shop in limited space (approx 200 sq ft) in the basement of my home. The shop contains the full list of high end power tools ( no lathe), a break down HVLP paint setup and shop furniture including my bench all of wihich is home made. . I use shelving in the utility area next to the shop to store numerous small and mid size tools such as my leigh D4 router jig. Every thing in the shop is on a mobile base of some sort.
It is somewhat gymnastic, but I have been able to build llarge case pieces in this setup.
All of this started in January 1990 when I retired. By now I presume you have guessed that I am 80 years old. The only thing interfering with my shop time is the love of my family and Golf where I can still shoot my age!!!!

Hello Poppychuck,
Welcome to LJs. I am sure that you will find this to be an exciting and rewarding part of your woodworking experience.
-- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless
