A little about me, I'm a retired Navy Chief. Served for over 20 years Active duty and 10 years with the Fleet Reserve, retiring completely in 2005 with 30...wow! Married my grade school sweetheart after being in the Navy for 10 years, still married...lol. Anyhoot, have made our home here in Westminster, South Carolina. We are still trading hours for dollars to maintain stability in our checkbook, like everyone else in the world....lol.

For my profile picture it is the cradle I made for my first Grand Daughter in March 2011. I enjoy working with wood, have to do a lot of things over and over again in the shop, but that's ok with me. If I were in my shop more often, am sure this would get better. But, for now, I'm just having a great time.

With Peyton here, I'm sure I'll be spending more time in my shop...:).

Is it possible to build a table 5’x2’ (the top will be like a box and the bottom will be like a box) example 5’x2’x4”, separated with four 32”x5” rounded legs? My plans were to use 3/4” birch for the boxed top and bottom. The entire carcass of each box would be the 3/4” birch, is this possible to attach this thick of wood to one another and what is recommended in putting the boxes together? Spline, joint/tenon, etc. The legs I already have an idea how I will mount to the underside of the top box and the upside of the bottom box. Any and all suggestions will be accepted. Thank you.
