Simple gumball machine

Hello,

I ‘wood’ like to thanks the LJ that shared with me the plans for this simple project. I just wanted something I could finish in a day or two…. something simple….something that would take me back to a simpler time, what better than a gumball machine! I just used some scrap plywood, oak and pine board that I attempted my first veneered re-saw using my new Laguna LT 16 HD bandsaw. I had the saw for 6 mo. before I was able to run power from my new power panel to the other side of the garage. What a joy.

this was the toughest project I ever did….
I used oak because it is strong, proven, stable
walnut because it was my Fathers favorite wood to work with.
He has been an inspiration and a great role model. I wish I could be half the wood worker he was.
He never used drawings or picture, he might have jotted down some dimensions but he built everything in his mind.

This is the first of four pieces I made for my master bath. Only the exposed wood or face is mahogany, any face that is buried next to the wall, is ply or poplar. Believe it or not the maple is from a big box store. All the hinges and glides are Blum soft close. I hope to post in a blog all four pieces because they are picture heavy. I have posted them on my Facebook page ( dragonfly woodworking)

I woke up the next morning to find a simple drawing of a firewood storage rack on my table saw. What could that mean…..hmmmm
