Howdy Folks,
I just bought some bamboo ply to build some nice kitchen drawer liners.
I plan to build using box joint and mortises for the construction.
Do any of you have any tips for working with bamboo as far a glue is concerned?
Thanks so much,
Ken

I know nothing about the glueup of bamboo, but I know some other stuff….
Like:
Buy a lot of that spray on anesthetic. You’ll need it.
Wear heavy gloves.
Watch out for slivers: see above!

Ken,
I use bamboo in bow building and some assorted kitchen items. Epoxy is used in the bows and I’ve had excellent results using Titebond II & III in my kitchen projects. Very easy to work with really.

I have some stranded bamboo flooring that was leftover from a job that i was going to experiment with. The stuff us rock hard and I thought it would make a nice mallet or other surface but I have a feeling the jointer isn’t going to like it very much. It’ll probably chew it up and spot it out all torn up. I’m gonna try it though and if it works well, I may make a little butcher block assembly table out of it or something.

Hi lanwater,
I bought a 4’ x 8’ sheet of 1/4” at Earthsource.
It’s pretty darn pricey so I will be taking it slow and triple checking all my measurements.
I can say the sheet I bought and the other ones I looked at was flawless.
This really is some beautiful stuff.
