newbie with a (possibly silly) question

Hi there! Im fairly new to wood working, I made several small cutting boards as Christmas presents and since then have gotten bitten by the bug! My neighbor has requested a 20×25x2 cutting board and i was curious if I needed to use dowels to reinforce my glue up on a board that large. The board will be purpleheart, walnut, and maple if that helps you guys out. Thanks in advance!
