I have been woodworking for about two years following severe heart attack at age 40. Grandpa invited me to his shop while off work for six months for recovery and have been hooked ever since. He focuses on scrolling and I share his interest plus a love of Intarsia. Recovering alcoholic for 3+ years and diverted addiction to wood. All of my projects to date have been from patterns designed by others. I love to visit sawmills when traveling to add to my growing "library" collection of exotic woods waiting for their design calling. My focuses are changing toward furniture building after making a couple of adirondack chairs. My wheels have been turning and am looking forward to making a slab table out of a spalted maple slab purchased on my last camping trip to Buchanan, MI. I am a plumber by trade, married for almost 15 years to a wonderful wife who supports me in the shop, father to four daughters and one male choc lab dawg who hangs with me in the shop.
