I have been doing mostly scrolling work for about 7 years, mostly intarsia and some fretwork. Most if not all of my work I give away-Just enjoy the woodworking and making sawdust. I am a retired accountant and the woodworking is a significant contrast to my career.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

I appreciate all the welcomes-it is easy to feel at home fairly quickly on this site. I especially like the profound statement of wisdom following some of your comments, particularly Splinterman because I can identify with ‘keep doing it till I get it right.’ My son is also a woodworking buff but the difference between him and me is that he is very precise and measures where I don’t like to measure twice and cut once but rather get quickly to the cutting.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
