Hexagon

I am starting a new side table, three legged, with a round top. QUESTION: I want to make the bottom a hexagon. I also have to make a jig to route out the slots while the piece is still in mt lathe to utilize the index, anyone have any ideas??? I know I can set my saw to 30 degrees to make the cuts, but a little stuck there.
