I have been in construction my whole life. I helped other people work on their homes and did alot of the trim moldings and cabinets as a younger man. I picked up the bug for sawdust in 1982 and bought my first machine: A small Sears table saw. I gathered drills, routers, and jigsaws and now I have better machines and want to upgrade in the near future.

I spent the first few childhood school years in Rhode Island and the surrounding New England area. I knew that I liked the houses and furnishings, but when I started going to Williamsburg in my early twenties I was hooked. I picked up a book back then "Make a Windsor Chair with Mike Dunbar" and off I went. I have been getting chair tools every since. I did take a class with a Master Chairmaker in the central PA area and have built a C-Arm Windsor. I now have several books on Windsors and plan to take advantage of them. I have known for a long time that chair building is what I want to do in the latter part of my life and build highboys, beds, and furniture like that of the 18th century. If there is money in it then fine and if not then that is ok. I do not have all the answers but I have plenty of questions.
