I have a part time shop in the hayloft of a barn. In recent years I have been using the shop for cabinet and built-in projects for various remodels. I have finished a handful of furniture projects for my wife, family and friends. I am realizing that what I have been looking for in my personal woodworking is hand-builds or whatever you call it, building using only or mostly hand tools. Building up shavings at my feet and the smell of the wood without the screaming machines and perhaps making a fine piece in the process :)
I own a small sawmill and do some part-time logging now and then. Over the years I have acquired an impressive collection of lumber, slabs, figured woods etc. I'm pretty sure it's a sickness. Now I need some project direction. Any ideas?

    Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a little over a year ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ's as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
