A lot of folks seem to have problems finding 6” thin wall PVC (D2729) duct fittings. I was picking up a 4” PVC D2729 (Thin wall DVW) wye this morning at my local Lowes store and I noticed that they are now carrying 6” D2729 fittings again. The prices seemed about par—i.e. ~$23 for a 6” wye.

A Simple Solution to a Vexing Drum Sander Problem - 18 replies
One of my most favorite power tools in my shop is my Performax (Jet) 16-32 drum sander. I use it on almost every project. However, for the last 15 years or so that I have owned it, this tool has frequently frustrated me because the motor circuit breaker frequently trips while sanding. After investigating possible solutions to this problem, I ...

Is the Workmate 225 a Worthwhile Puchase? - 12 replies
I am considering buying a new Black & Decker Workmate Model 225. I plan to use it mostly as a work stand to hold a portable router table or a Ridgid Oscillating Spindle/Belt sander. The user reviews seem to lament a gross loss of quality compared to the earlier models, which seems to be a common phenomenon these days. Do any of you fellow LJ...

IGaging Angle Cube Recalibration - 5 replies

Drill Press Suitable for Light Milling? - 6 replies
Hi folks, I am thinking of replacing my bench top drill press with another tool suitable for both drill press operations and light milling operations. Typically, drill presses aren’t designed for side loading of the spindle. Even if the chuck doesn’t come off of its taper, the spindle bearings aren’t usually designed for sid...

Trouble Viewing Project Photos - 4 replies
This morning it seems that somehow my viewing capabilities have changed on the Projects forum. When I click on Zoom, I get an enlarged pic, but there is no “Next” notation showing up to view the next pic. And I am not able to view enlarged copies of the other views. Has there been some software change? Thanks, Paul, in Auburn, WA

Need Some Advice - 4 replies
I posted this topic on the Site Feedback forum, but I don’t know how often folks look at that one, so I thought I would repeat it here, since this seems to be a popular forum. I have the plans for my Flip-Top Planer/Sander project ready to post. I have created a single 840KB .pdf file containing the information. However, I don’t k...

Need Some Advice - 1 reply
I am getting ready to post the plans for my Flip-Top Planer/Sander project. I have made them into a single .pdf file that I would like include in the post. This file is about 840KB. I don’t see any instructions as to how to embed the .pdf file into a post. Can I just embed the file as though it was a picture? Can someone please help me wit...
