Location: Ottawa, Ontario - Canada
Website:

I am in the Ottawa Ontario area, and getting close to retirement from the federal government.
I have been pondering about what I would like to do for quite a while now.
I consider myself a handyman in a lot of different fields, but not a pro in any of them.
I have just started getting into woodworking and am using a 13'x14' room in my basement as my workshop.
I mostly will be using power based tools and hope to start with something simple and work my way up from there.
At the moment, I am mostly trying to get the shop set up and making things such as push sticks, mobile bases, tool hanging system, etc which will also raise my experience level up a bit.
Thanks for visiting.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a little over a year ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…

Hey Paul,

WELCOME to LumberJocks – another Canadian joins the ranks! There is a wealth of knowledge in these pages and available for the asking. Never hesitate to reach out.

You have caught the woodworking bug at a perfect time – just ahead of retirement. May you build the shop out the way you want to, have all the tools, supplies and wood you can ever use, and more important, may you have countless hours, days, months and years ahead to enjoy it all.

Again, WELCOME!

Glen
