busted trip

well, my vacation went down the tubes. pop up campers are NOT the way to go. not with disabled husbands and dogs. blew a tire on the camper before we ever got out of ohio. then the muffler fell off the car. then the transpmisson cooler started leaking.
then the ac went out . we made it as far as mo. before we had to turn back. hubbys legs started swelling badly from not being raised up enought. darn small cars.

but we have not been home all summer. we went to chicago well west of chicago. to the GOW which is a gathering of woodcarvers. spent a week there. with some very ood carvers. had a great time.

took a couple of carving lessons. visited with friends. and carved a wooden lawn chair. which is in my photobucket site.

got a trip to savannah yet this year. to see my son . and a great seafood festival, and a big car show. hope to find some cypress knees while down there.

then in nov. hoping to go to dayton woodcarving show. if the ohio weather stays good.

well that is my summer. how was yours?

It is a shame how vehicle problems can bring down a vacation. Sounds like you tried to make the best of it any way.
I am headed to Savannah in a couple of weeks. I am not sure if I will get to do too much sight seeing as I am helping my daughter and son move. Do you know where to find the cypress knees?

you are right debbie ,unforgittable. but has good points too. my husband had never been across the mississippi and i got to take him. plus i surprized the heck out of my friend in springfield mo. she had no idea i was headed that way. lol.

and tom, you going to be in savannah around the 19,20th, that is when the seafood festival and big car show is on. you should go to those.

Twill, down ere in LA, lower alabama ya have to get a stick or gun, a good sharp saw, roll those pant legs up and go wadeing for them in a cypress pond. Pick out the one that you want, cut it off leaving a little jesus factor for leveling . Boil it good untill the bark is easly peeled, attach a good peice of thick plywood to keep it from splitting and dry to your likeing. By the way the stick or gun is for the cotton mouth’a.
