Use a piece of scrap wood to get 90 degrees while edge jointing by hand

This really helped me. Hope it helps you guys. I just screwed 2 pieces of wood together to form a right angle that my plane could rest and ride on while jointing. The result was 90 degrees dead on. Watch the video here.!https://s3.amazonaws.com/vs-lumberjocks.com/o7i91zj.jpg!

I have a veritas #7 with the edge guide that bolts to the plane to maintain a right angle, it works well but I don’t use it as much as I should because of the time it takes to bolt onto the plane. Your two board guide is a great idea and can be used quickly with any size plane. I will be making one & thanks for the tip.
