214 posts in 495 days Location: Northwestern Pennsylvania I have the best job ever. I pastor a church in Northwestern PA. As much as I love all I do, I realized I needed a little break to keep from going nuts. Hence, woodworking. I pretty much use hand tools as often as I can, but I'm not opposed to using power tools from time to time. I'm not out to sell anything; that would ruin the purpose behind this journey. I had the privilege of building my wood shop in the back corner of my barn with my dad. He is one of the greatest carpenters I've ever known. He's even a better dad. So my wood shop serves many purposes. Besides doing woodworking, I also use it as a place to study and read my Bible (used a big plane shaving as a book mark one week; that got some attention), pray, connect with my kids, and counsel those from my church and community. I'm thankful for an understanding and supportive wife. But most of all, I'm thankful for a God who loves me and give me the ability to use my hands to discover what's .002" below the surface of the wood that He grew. -- Glen, Pennsylvania, Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men."
