I love to build things. I have always wanted a shop and I am finally getting it built. I started building the shop in 07-01-08 and am almost done! I have built most of it myself with help from my two sons and two neighbor boys. My dad helped out with the electrical.
The major push for the shop started when I started construction of a 25' composite plywood/fiberglass boat. I was building it under a carport next to my home. I was only able to build for a couple of months due to the PNW weather. Got my wife to buy off on the construction when I told her I could add a 2nd floor as a pottery studio for her.
YEE HAW she bought it! The 2nd floor is set up as a one bedroom apartment just in case we ever have to have one of the parental units move in. Told my mom I have an electric hoist so we can just hoist her butt up the stairs. No namby pamby chair lifts for her.
The shop is 24' x 26' with 12' ceilings.
I will start a construction blog for photos and details.

Time to start glassing the inside of the bottom. Called on my wife to help out. She mixed and I poured and spread the epoxy. Sometimes we both had to spread to get it all out before it kicked off. As you can see in that last pic ...
Ok, here are some pics of the build. The first one is of my grandson helping put the jig together. Then a pic of the epoxy pump I ordered from Michaels Engineering. It makes the process so much cleaner and easier as the epoxy comes out in the c...
I will just give a quick synopsis of my build so far. It has been on hold while I have been building my new shop. It has been under a tarp in my front yard for the last year. I got started on this project as I wanted to build a boat to take m...
This is going bacwards a little since I found the pics from the beginning of the project. What got me started on actually building the new shop was my boat project. Here is a pic of my boat project under the carport I was using to protect the bu...
