HI I AM FROM THE NORTHEASTERN PART OF OKLAHOMA ABOUT 45 MILES NORTH OF TULSA. I AM 43 YRS. OLD AND HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH WOOD SINCE I WAS 8 YRS. OLD. I LIKE TO WORK WITH HANDTOOLS AS MUCH AS I CAN BUT POWER TOOLS DO THE JOB MUCH FASTER. HANDTOOLS CAN BE RELAXING TO ME. I USUALLY WORK ON SMALL PROJECTS CAUSE I HAVE SMALL AREA TO WORK IN AND NO MONEY MOST OF THE TIME. I LIKE TO DO INLAYS IN TO RIFLE STOCKS MOST OF THE TIME. BUT HAVE DONE INLAYS IN OTHER PROJECTS. I AM NOT REAL GOOD BUT FAIR. JUST REMEMBER FINGERS MEND, KNUCKLES HEAL, AND BLOOD MAKES PRETTY STAIN IN SMALL AMOUNTS ( HOPEFULLY SMALL AMOUNTS ). I MIX AND SELL PAINT FOR A LIVING AND HAVE BEEN A PAINTER FOR THE LAST 25 YRS. I HAVE TO SAY I JUST LIKE WOOD. I GUESS YOU CAN SAY I AM A WOODSNIFFER. I LOVE THE SMELL OF FRESH CUT WOOD. IT GETS INTO YOUR BLOOD ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. I JUST LIKE WOOD AND WHAT SHAPE IT CAN BE MADE INTO. ITS VERY CALMING AND SATISFYING.

Hello Paintman: Welcome to Lumber Jocks. This community is full of good ideas, neat projects and good fellowship. I hope you get as much out of LJ as I do; a lot of knowledge and fun.

Hello John,
Welcome to LJs. I am sure that you will find this to be an exciting and rewarding part of your woodworking experience.
-- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless
