« Part 4: Thorsen table top Part 5 of Thorsen table challenge - tease! series Part 6: Thorsen table, OOPS! »

Well everyone I tried to post this a couple of nights ago, but it seems we had some technical difficulties. I’m glad it has been fixed.

I cut my dowels to length on the table aprons:

Added another cross member to the front and back assemblies:

Then setup to drill for the addition of some 1/2” buttons for a decreative element:

Had to make my own table top hold downs:

And route slots in which to allow for wood movement for the hold downs:

Last but not least, I started on finishing the table top:

I hope you’ve enjoyed this blog. ;^)

Nice going Os,
My table is gradually coming along too. I was thinking of making the same kind of hold downs.

It’s been lonely the last couple of days without LJ.

Though I’m not building one of these fine tables, ( gotta get shop built back 1st) I sure am enjoying seeing everyone’s progress. Thanks for sharing.

thanks for posting your progress – not only is it fun to watch it “grow” but I get to benefit from the little tidbits of “how to”!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I’ve since added a shelf on the bottom and will hopefully have more to share next week.
