Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Always nice to see Seabee’s past and present. I am currently a SWC in Port Hueneme, CA with 13 years in. Additionally, I was born in Maryville MO… Not to far from you. I have family all over the place in Missouri and Iowa. Welcome and have fun. These are a great bunch of people here.

Chuck24,
Great to see any Bee anywhere! Thank You for your service!!
I was a BU3 with MCB#4 in 1971, we were out of Port Why Do They Need ME, too. I cannot recall our CO’s name but our 2nd was LC Jack Buffington, last time I talked to him he was the King Bee and he was going to retire to Eureka Springs Ark.
When we were sent to Rota Spain, he and I joined the Rodeo Club on base there. We built my first stair case together. I laid it out and cut the rise and run with a skill saw, he finished the cuts with a hand saw. This set of stairs was to a walkway over the bull run and over 12’ up. When we got finished, I took a level and checked a couple treads for level then said, “close enough for goverment work” and turned to walk away, Jack grabbed the level and checked them himself in a huff.. They were dead on, he handed me the level back grinned and said, “Yep!” I use the formula they taught us for stairs to this day!
I will have to tell you abt the ‘carpenter’s test we gave a SW too!!! Lots of good memories!!

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself just about 2 years ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
I apologize for the late welcome but I am currently serving overseas and don’t have a lot of spare time on my hands.
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
