I've been interested in wood working all my life. The past few years I've picked up some tools at auctions, ebay, and some new retail from a wood working showroom. I have most of the tools I think I'll need for the projects I intend to do. However I find it hard to pass up a bargin when it comes to tools.

I've worked in construction and I have remodled several homes. I have done everything from digging footers to cutting rafters. I'm pretty confident of my skills in this area. I'm looking to hone my furniture making skills. With special interest in making stuff for my grandkids.

I have about 8400 square feet to do with as I please. So I'm looking for ideas and help in setting up a wood working shop. I plan to start out with a space 33' X 42 1/2'.

I am 52 and want to have a fine shop where I'll be able to build small to medium projects once I retire. I like the older tools American made cast iron. I have several tools, some pretty good and some I hope to upgrade at some point. I'll post a list of tools later.

I have not pictures at this time but would like to post some once I'm able to actually set my tools in place.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
