Is there a right and wrong way for the tabs of the links to be pointing when the belt is moving towards the front of the saw? (Belt moving clockwise) I put mine on with the tabs pointing toward the back of the saw and it sounds loud. I may put a regular belt on if it is going to make that much more noise. Not sure which is correct.

Need help to find this thing. - 4 replies
I once had a device that I could plug into an outlet and then plug an appliance into it. This would track and display, (like an old type car odometer), the amount of hours the appliance/tool had been running or used. I want to search for one on the net but I don’t know what to call it. I get way too many matches that are not what I want. C...

Motor to 240v. The manual says it can be wired for 120 or 240 but no diagram to do so. My question is has anyone done this with this saw and if so do you have a diagram for it? Also would there be any advantage to doing that?larry

But I want to know if anyone else has done this or sees any thing wrong (other than horizontal) that may make it work not as it should. It seems to eliminate mounting problems with the motor and I believe it could be done on the base it comes with. I just need reassurance from the experienced that I am not making a mistake. larry https://w...

What kind of wood is this? - 15 replies
Lowes locally has a lumber they call white wood. It is ¾ inch thick and various widths. What I looked at was the 3” wide by 8’. The wood looks very clear of knots and is smooth but the edges are a little fuzzy. It seems sort of soft to me. Can someone tell me what this wood is and what it is good to use for and to not use for? It actually...

I was cleaning my garage type shop and using my dust collector because the mess was mostly saw dust. I left to get a drink and when I looked back in the garage (it is closed) it looked like fog. I didn’t notice while working but the room filled up with dust coming through the top bag of the collector. Every item was covered with a 1/1...

Never done this before, is it safe or dangerous? - 11 replies
I was in our local Lowes store yesterday and they had a bundle of five 7 1/4” Kobalt 24 tooth carbide blades in a hard plastic holder for $19.99. With my veteran discount that ended up less than $4 a blade including tax. I bought them thinking I could use them for certain cuts that I didn’t want to use my good blades on with my 10...

screws onto the motor to let you use 1/4 inch router bits on it. I found it at our local habitat store for a buck still in the package and bought it just because it was cheap and I’m cheap I didn’t have one.
