I belong to the Franklin Horner Community Center here in Toronto Canada. I was blessed to have found this place after retirement. The only problem was the annual membership fee. Can you imagine having to pay $25. annually. Isn’t that disgusting! Just Joking! Well anyhow, that is where I hang my hat usually 5 mornings a week. For community sales the wood and supplies are provided. Most wood and supplies come from donations, government funding, corporate sponsors and proceeds from sales at events through the year. I have to admit that some days are spent chatting over coffee and cookies more so than making sawdust. Great bunch of Guys. For home projects you simply supply your own materials. The shop has 2, what we call assembly rooms with work benches, small tools ets. The main shop is equipped with two stop saws, drum sander, jointer, planer, horizontal and vertical sanders, lathes ets. It is well equipped. The shop is not without it’s frustrations as you can imagine the abuse that takes place, being a community based workshop. All in all it is a great place and glad to have it.

Welcome to LJ’s.
That looks like a super nice shop.
Obviously the membership fee would not pay for that; even a 100 members would not pay for one SawStop in a year.
Was that facility provided by government funds or from private sponsers?

Anyway, proud for you.

Wow! That’s really fantastic. I’m glad you have a place to play, even if it costs 25bux/year.

Nice play to suck back coffee and make saw dust, plus hang out with your buddies. Looks like fun.
