Today was more of an experiment than anything but I’m satisfied with how it turned out. I was tired of sawdust going everywhere in my garage when I used my miter saw, so decided to try build a shroud out of some scraps and some vinyl sheeting so the dust collector could be more effective. I have a shop vac under the miter saw that collects the dust from the saws port which doesn’t collect much at all. Eventually I’ll build a more permanent cabinet with a downdraft table underneath the saw itself and use a bigger hood, but this works for now. I would say its about a 50% reduction in dust going around the shop which is worth the work. Enjoy the pictures.
