<img alt="Forever Fresh!
Finished Tulip with a little Mineral oil & Beeswax- One coat of Poly wiped on the vase & twig just to clean it up.

Dollars’ worth of Dimes

For this decorative board effect, I needed a stepping and yet repeatable stop on the tablesaw fence.
So I came up with this idea.

Dollars’ worth of Dimes,

Make a cut remove a dime, make a cut remove a dime and so on, till all your dimes are gone, then there are 8 full width pieces in the center of this board then it steps back down, add a dime make a cut and so on;
If you figured it out correctly your making your last cut when you have your dollar back on the fence!
(Depending on how long the initial glue-up is)

It’s Cheap, Effective, & Exacting.
I could have been even cheaper and done this with Ten Cents but I thought all those nice colored boards deserved a, little bit of Silver, plus I liked the thickness of a dime.

Here are lots more Photos of the build if you’re interested.

Dollars’ worth of Dimes
It measures 15-1/2” x 14” x 3/4”
Finished with Cutting Board conditioner & Beeswax.
Thanks for taking the time to look.

Whew!!

It really is quite an Honor to make these for the Scouts, they work very hard to achieve this Award!

Thanks for looking!

Wish I had a lot more of this. Fun to Turn!
All are finished with Wipe-On Poly, the bowl has Mineral Oil and Beeswax on inside.

Wedding Gifts --- 3 in 1

For my Daughter and Son in-laws Wedding, I made this Tree of Life Clock. Holly, Black Walnut, Ebony for the hands and Rosewood for hour marks.

Then Turned this Salad Bowl out of Teak.

Once it was turned on a face plate I realized that I needed to make a Long-worth Chuck.

When the bowl was done I decided they would need some spring open Tongs. Teak, Ebony.

These Tongs fold back on themselves for easy storage,
when flipped all the way around they are spring loaded.

I guess maybe this should be a 4 in 1 project.
I got to keep the Chuck!
More Clock Images here

Long Worth Chuck & Bowl Images here

We made a short video of the process just thought we would throw it out there.
If you would like to look, here is link to—
Stephens Cube in a Cube in a Cube
Thanks for looking!!

Wife's Printer Table

Needed to get my wife’s printer off the floor.
I had an old piece of composite marble that came out of an end table, I was able to cut it down to fit this project.
Also I started with some beautiful rough sawn Mahogany

I had no way to plane this stuff, and I wanted to keep a piece of it, the full 15” width that it was for the bottom shelf. So I built this sled for Router that would ride on a couple stainless steel pipes that would lay nice and flat on bench on either side of work piece.

Do one side then flip and do the other.

Worked great!

Stained, then Rubbed in some more stain with some 600 grit – before assembly, I like to fill a little of the grain this way. Assembled all then just rubbed in several coats of paste wax.

My wife still needs to pick out a handle for cedar bottom drawer.
Thanks for looking!

Finished with paste wax.
At one point he stopped the Lathe, (smiling) he said,
“this is so much Fun and exciting, I don’t have to think about anything else when I am doing this” 11 yrs old
