As some of you may have read I am in the process of refinishing our dining room table pedestals. If you haven’t read my blog on this here is the link that will bring you up to speed; http://lumberjocks.com/nobuckle/blog/20020. What I am about to do is glue everything back together. As you can see from the following picture the legs are not going to clamp up easily.
I need to know from you who have done similar glue ups, how should I do this? I have a band clamp but I don’t think that’s going to work. Your help is greatly appreciated. Take care.

If you have a large enough work top, screw blocks to it at the end of each leg in its proper position, then put a weight on top of the pedestal. Gravity will do the rest. If needed, wedges can be used between the end of the leg and the block.
