Made a mod to the sled

I was looking at the design of the handle on my crosscut sled and decided that it just didn’t look right. I also incorporated some finger guards. I didn’t want to scrap the handle all together so I cut it down a bit and attached it to the finger guards. Here is how it turned out;

I attached the finger guard to the front fence with some screws. I did not glue the finger guard assembly to the fence, this allows me to remove the guard in the event that I need or want to attach a different fence. I still need to acquire some 1/8” polycarbonate to make a shield that will help to keep chips from hitting me in the face.

Nice looking sled! Looks like a nice comfy handle to push it with. As your muscle memory “remembers” to grab the handle you will be automagically making a safer cut. Good work I say!
