If you’ve been following this blog at all you’ll know that I’ve been working on adding a router table top to my table saw. Many of you have provided very helpful insight. Well, things have take a serious turn for the better. What started out as a just a router table top has turned into an outfeed table as well. I was seeking the advice of a friend the other day and the next thing I know we’re in his shop totally revamping my original ideas. The only problem is that we actually ended building his ideas of what I need as opposed to mine. I’m thankful for all of his input, but because he didn’t take my reasonings into consideration I now have some new challenges to overcome. I’m not really sure how this is going to turn out. I’ll try to post a sketchup model of what I now have. That’s all for now.

Is this an outfeed table in addition to the router table top? or is the outfeed table ALSO the router table top?

I am asking this, because I originally built my router table to act as an outfeed table for my Table saw – seemed like a great idea, but I totally forgot that I’d need to remove the routertable fence everytime I need to use the Table saw as it is in the way.

just a thought ;)

The router table top and the outfeed table are one and the same. The following picture represents how it will look when completed.

Because the router table is mounted on the side I could use my table saw fence as the router table fence as well. Keep in mind that I have a whole other fence assembly that will be used for the router table fence. The table saw model in the picture is roughly to scale with mine. I know, it looks goofy because the outfeed doesn’t go all the way across. It couldn’t be helped, there was a material limitation. It’s more than I had before so I’ll take it.
