Buenos Dias from the Land of Enchantment…..........

Today marks the completion of my first year as a member of the LumberJocks community!!!

.......and what a year it has been. Personally, I have struggled thru a second cancer related surgery, the followup tests, scans, and all the poking and prodding the medics deem necessary…......then the LOML was laid off and out of work for roughly 3 months… budget cuts were necessary and rice and beans became an everyday staple….......on the positive side… health is slowly getting back to normal, latest scans show that I’m cancer free….and the LOML landed a fairly good job.

My tenure here with LJs has had its ups and downs too…........from my first struggling steps in learning from all the good people here about basic woodworking… the positive side of being able to actually build something without creating massive piles of sawdust and large stacks of mistakes (mistakes are still made…....but not as often).

and….......being a person who really needs the ‘show me’ step of learning (which at times, the light is still slow to come on!)...........I would still be in the dark about numerous procedures, techniques and safety aspects that make up the woodworking world…......had it not been for my good friend, mentor, tutor and critiquer…..LJs Professor Patron!!!!!

to David (Patron)............... I am forever grateful and thankful for all he has taught me and all he has done to help out during the last year or so.

to LJs, there is more talent, craftsmanship and information to be found here than any encyclopedia or book could ever assemble…........not to mention….........the camaraderie…....and friendship….things that are not found in books!!................and the giving and sharing in this community is……............... phenomenal!!!!!.........Change is not an option…....LJs needs to continue doing…...what they’re doing!!!!

as said in the beginning….......Time flies when having fun…..and this has been fun!!!!

adios til the next time….......
