Howdy all!!! Have been perusing LJs for quite awhile now and after some prodding from my buddy Patron decided to become a member of the clan. I’m somewhat of a novice woodworker, you know the kind of guy who has trouble sweeping up saw dust. I decided that there is a great deal of knowledge to be reaped from the members here….so here I am. My first project is to redo my workshop into something that will be productive. I have in my arsenal of wood maiming equipment (that’s all I can do at present – maim) a 10” table saw, a portable 10” table saw, router (and a newly purchased table), circular saws, jig saws, chop saw, belt sander, orbital sanders, drill press, and various pounding and screwing devices. As I am rapidly approaching the so called “Golden Years” and am still working full time to support my family, I am somewhat monetarily hindered when its time to buy equipment. My only thing is that I buy the best that I can afford and will perform the functions I need to do, which sometimes isn’t the best approach. After things are setup and cleaned up, I will post some photos of my little work area. Hopefully, from all the expertise here on LJs and help from my woodworking buddy up the road (Patron), some of my so called home projects will look like I know what I’m doing.

welcome to LJs, you will find many interesting and knowledgeable people here, (Patron among them) I hope you enjoy your time here.
I have been through your country once, it is the most beautiful area I have ever been, the wife and I talked about moving there at one time, but with the kids and grandkids here, it makes it hard to leave.

Glad that you’ve joined this fine group of happy and dedicated woodworkers or hackers in some cases.

I think that you’ve got a great neighbor, he should be a great woodworking buddy.

Welcome from Ohio!
You can pick your friends but you can’t pick your neighbors. Looks like you have a pretty good neighbor.
