MORE BOARDS!!!

A few boards for a small fundraiser for a local mentoring group. The NYS boards are curly maple, the checkerboards are bloodwood and maple, the other is cherry and walnut, the big board is walnut, bloodwood with a curly maple center strip. The smaller boards are the same species as listed above, my favorite was the live edge walnut with a bloodwood stip down the center. ALL were sold, money went to a good cause!
Thanks to fellow LJ’s for stirring my mind and creating different styles!

Boards for Mom's birthday

This started out as one board, and I had some scrap leftover, so I figured I could add another board, using two strips from the endgrain board for the sides. The pics did not work out as well as I hoped, but the boards will make my mom smile. It was my grandpa who sparked my interest in woodworking. With grandpa’s guidance from above, I will continue to develop my woodworking skills. I look forward to my next project! Thanks for taking a peek!

Inspirational Message

This quick project was made for my father in-law who is battling cancer. The message came from a good friend of mine who battled brain cancer for many years before losing the fight. It is a message of courage, confidence, and character that reached many people D.S. touched. I painted it up this morning, as my father in-law is a huge NY Giants fan. I handed this to him just before kick-off tonight, he loved it!

This was my first attempt at a cutting board. I used the Wood Whisperer site for some help and enjoyed making it. This project allowed me to become more familiar with different power tools. Truly enjoying this new hobby. I have a hard time leaving the shop! Vacation next week, time to PLAY!!!

Cabinet for my wife's birthday

My wife found this cabinet online and was ready to purchase when I said, give me some time to try to build one like it. I used the measurements and got after it. With the generous help of a friend and his shop, I was able to learn a lot, truly enjoy a new hobby, and give my wife a wonderful birthday present, although it was almost a month late!!! I look forward to my next project, for my wife of course, as she already has something picked out…from Lumberjocks! My grandfather would be proud ;)
