My father had always enjoyed woodworking. When I was about 16 he changed his profession to furniture refinishing and we moved to a southwest Chicago suburb of New Lenox where I helped him in my spare time. And for extra money! I went on doing my thing for many years when about 8 years ago my brother wanted to change his profession and moved up to New Lenox to work with my father knowing he was going to retire soon. About 4 years ago my father did retire and my brother asked me if I wanted to go into the family business. Which I did. My brother and Father sold the business and my brother and I started our own furniture restoration business in Nashville. Cumberland Furniture Works and Restoration. It's a long name I know. It was a slow start but we stay real busy now (2 to 4 months behind usually). We always get great reviews from our customers. But I have a passion in creating and building furniture. I had an idea of starting my own Furniture business. So I've been working on my own projects in my spare time. I love working with my hands and creating things with wood. I have a lot to learn but I know a lot too. So that's a little bit about me.
