Hello fellow lumberjocks. Thank you for all the comments and advice you guys gave me on my first post last week. To answer few of the questions that I got asked is I do build the complete bunk bed or loft bed whatever the customer ordered. Then after they are done either the customer picks up or I deliver the bed to them. I do it both ways. It just depends if the customer can pick it up or they live to far away to pick it up so then I deliver it. Besides that this last week has been kind of slow but it has been productive at the same time. I got one bunk bed finished which you can check out on my page. And I got some new leads on a few more orders. one thing I am learning and learning it slowly is the business end or office part of the business. Like how to price the beds to were I make a profit on them, but at the same time make them afforable to my customers. I found out one of the best ways to find some of the office part out is either ask other guys that have there own businesses or sometimes they might just tell you. I might be doing it the wrong way but I haven’t taken any classes to learn it I have asked other business guys how they do it or sometimes if they find out what your doing they will just give you advice. So before you decide to start a business and think you will just make a couple things and sell them, do some research and see what works what doesn’t. Ask people that have been in business for 20 or more years and see what works for them. I will tell you now it doesn’t work if you just jump right into it. Thats like a business plan gone bad. I tried that and yeah it didn’t work at all. So I had to take a step back and reevaluate my business plan and I started over. If you want you can check out my website on blogspot.com which is on my home page to. So until next week stay safe in the shop.
