11-16-2010 06:43 AM by Marc | 2 comments »

I’ve got my own site where I like to write about my projects so rather than duplicate them here I’ll just provide a little teaser. If you’d like to read the full post just click here. I haven’t quite finished the Jeweler’s Bench project but the boss really wants to upgrade our entertainment center now that we’ve got a nice new TV and furniture in the basement. We looked around for one to buy but just didn’t find anything we really liked. Then I started searching for some ...

I’ve got my own site where I like to write about my projects so rather than duplicate them here I’ll just provide a little teaser. If you’d like to read the full post just click here. Well, some four and a half months ago I started building a proper entertainment center for our basement. I have now been told if the entertainment center isn’t finished by June my wife will be going out and buying one, so I am back at it. I’ve got my own site where I like to write about my projects so rather than duplicate them here I’ll just provide a little teaser. If you’d like to read the full post just click here. Getting back into the swing of things with this project gave me the opportunity to finally mount my new Freud Diablo blades in both my table saw and my miter saw. The base is just made up of four corner blocks and four rails screwed together with some pocket screws. The corner blocks were actually pretty easy to make although…

I’ve got my own site where I like to write about my projects so rather than duplicate them here I’ll just provide a little teaser. If you’d like to read the full post just click here. Yes, I’m still not done with the entertainment center… It’s a good thing I didn’t make woodworking my career. I think it has been almost a year since I started this project. I’d have to charge like $100,000 for this piece just to break even. I haven’t been working full time on this of course, but still, I ...

I’ve got my own site where I like to write about my projects so rather than duplicate them here I’ll just provide a little teaser. If you’d like to read the full post just click here. The final things that needed to be constructed for the entertainment center were the doors. These are a simple frame but the interior panel is actually a lattice ‘weave’. I wanted these to come out right since they are a major visual feature of the entertainment center so I took my sweet time making them. (Th...

I’ve got my own site where I like to write about my projects so rather than duplicate them here I’ll just provide a little teaser. If you’d like to read the full post just click here. The entertainment center is finished! Yep, you read that correctly. It’s all done. After completing construction last time, all that was left to do was mount the hardware, stain the top and base, and then cover everything with polyurethane…
