« Part 1: Day 2 Part 2 of Hernia repair recovery series Part 3: Part 3 - Pendant finished »

I’ve now decided on what my next project is. A small pendant in Boxwood. It will, of course by a heart but it is based on a more complex heart design than just the basic one.

This is a design that I have used before but never published and I don’t remember seeing anyone else using it but of course someone will see this and put me right on that.

So the design is based upon two stylised heads, suggested as being male and female, and the way they come together forms a heart, well two hearts actually, the overall shape is a heart and the space between the two figures is also a heart.

Where I am at the moment I have no machinery and so all of my carving is done the old fashioned way with just a knife.

Here is a picture of the original pattern, the knife I’m using and the work In Progress.

Looking forward to getting more time on it soon.
