You are welcome to participate in the following two categories:
A Knot Like No Other - It's creativity time! Don't let that big old knot get you down - incorporate it into a project, highlighting it's beauty or uniqueness. You can knock out the wood (if there is some) and use just the hole or keep the wood intact and include it in your design. It's time to get knotty with your woodworking. Be sure to describe how the knot inspired you.
A Secret Compartment - Sshhh!! It will be just our little secret-where have you hidden that special storage compartment in your woodworking project? Whether you are building a box, a chair, or any other creation, use your design and woodworking skills to add a secret compartment that no one will find unless they know it is there! This project is all about the "secret".
There are several chances to win great prizes from our fantastic sponsors in both categories. And The Best Overall LumberJock will get a special Grand Prize - brand new DeWalt Tracksaw.
I know you're eager to see the complete prize list and read all the details and rules so the last piece of information I'd like to share with you is the entry deadline and that is January 31, 2009 at 3 PM CDT.

First you must post each of your entries as a project and then you just have to click on the green SUBMIT ENTRIES button on the Awards page.
Hey… just a friendly reminder to all who want to submit the entries to our Winter Awards. There is just one 3 days left - entry deadline is January 31, 2009 at 3 PM CDT.
WOW… what a competition - this is going to be tough voting. We have 58 entries in A Knot Like No Other and 48 entries in A Secret Compartment category. And now it's time to pick your top 5 list in both categories and cast your votes (and don't forget that three lucky random voters will win our stylish LumberJocks Shirt).
Also, if you who have submitted an Awards entry, you will notice that your project is not listed when you make your selections. (You are not allowed to vote for yourself.) So don't panic when you do not see your entry in the voting list - others can pick your entry without any problems.
The results will be announced on February 8th.
Click on the big VOTE AND WIN button on the Awards pages to cast your votes now.
There are examples of great craftsmanship, it is particularly note worthy that this competition has highlighted some brilliant examples of the use of wood Knots Like No Others and a number of very clever Secret Compartments.
Our great Winter 2009 LumberJocks Woodworking Awards are over so it's time to officially announce the winners. The winning projects were selected from 106 total submissions in an online voting held from February 1 to February 7. 240 votes by 135 voters were cast during this period. And the winners are…
This was a hard one to vote since all the projects submitted in both categories were "winners". But congratulations to all the prize winners. The awards were well deserved.
