First, I’d like to thank all of you for the participation in the this wonderful project and event. And my special thanks goes to Dusty and Karson for the idea as well as the execution.
We have received 30 donations total and I’m going to invest this money to make this website more stable and faster by buying the webserver software license.
The recipient of the Memorial Project is Karrie (picked in the random drawing from all donors).
You can read more about the development of this project in the following two blog series:
Let me wrap up this project with the following text by Debbie taken from the latest eMag:
Memorial Event for Oscorner
Most of you are aware of the passing of our fellow LumberJock, Oscorner. Many of us were first greeted by Mark when we joined the site and we were blessed by his kind words of support when we posted a project.
Now, with the initiative of Dusty and Karson, a Memorial event has been set up in his honour. One of Mark’s requests for his funeral was that people didn’t spend money on flowers but donated them to a cause that would help others. Dusty and Karson are doing just that.
Together, they have created “Mark’s Heavenly Flight”, a framed stained glass piece of art that symbolizes Oscorner’s faith and his final journey. LumberJocks are encouraged to make a $10 donation to LumberJocks.com in Oscorner’s memory (which will ensure that the site is funded for some time, keeping it available to help others). Everyone who makes a donation will have their name “put in a hat” and a random selection will be made on February 21th. Arrangements will then be made for this person to receive the one-of-a-kind memorial piece.
A big thank-you to Dusty and Karson for their tribute and all the work that they have put into this.
”Thinking of you, Oscorner”

Thanks Martin for the notification. It was truly a pleasure to be a part of this and it was a surprise 10 minutes ago when my daughter called and told me that she won it.
She said, “Now I’ll have another piece that my father made.” Thanks to all those who contributed to the project and to the donation fund. My Mark be honored as he honored us with his presence on LumberJocks.

Dang…...I was hoping to win. I wanted an excuse to drive up to Dusty’s and see his Crack House…..Oh well. Congrats to Karrie. Had I won it, my plan was to send it to Mark’s wife as our memorial to him.

I am glad the project generated what it did. It is truly a work of art and a wonderful tribute.
Lazy, I can tell you that it is worth the trip to Dusty’s, even if you aren’t picking up the prize.

Congratulations to Karrie, it’s also nice that it’s kept in the family of one of the creators.
Karson, that’s one advantage of having a large family.

how wonderful. It made me smile to think of it in Karson’s daughter’s home! A special tribute became even more special.
