What a cool day. I have name day here in Slovakia today and there is an old saying that you should expect first snow this day…. aaand everything is white here. woo hoo!
Plus I’m so happy to finally invite you to our brand new LJ sister site – GardenTenders.com. This new online site is a place for gardeners around the world to discuss their passion for gardens, to share information and personal experiences, and to seek and provide advice. Whether the gardeners tend to vegetables, flowers, rock gardens, ponds and fountains, or outdoor spaces to hang out with family and friends, this site is the place to go to take your gardening skills to a new level.
We decided to go with the name GardenTenders and not GardenJocks. Debbie, thanks for coming with this idea. It’s funny what Dennis said in his recent comment: “I think the homebuilding site is a winner Martin! It’s time to get your garden tended so you can get around to your house work.” Coincidence? Let us know if you like this name.
The site still requires some polishing but I wanted to finally invite you to test it out and post some content. We’re working on the Press Release that will announce the site next week and it’d be great to have some great content already posted.
So don’t hesitate to join GardenTenders and also invite all your gardening friends. I hope we will create wonderful gardening community with the LJ spirit ;)

Congratulations Martin! What a wonderful “Name Day” present. I am sure that this will be as successful as LJ.com.
Well done.

Martin, here is the tough love – I think the name and graphic are perfect. I think the mental image and feel of GardenJocks would not go over well. GardenTenders sounds good, creates a good mental image, and feel.
The graphic is nice and visually ties it to the LJ work so that you have a “Sojka Productions” image.
I don’t garden but will send the link to others that do to help spread the love.
I think you have created something great in LJ and I wish you success in GT.

I think my wife will love this site. My gardening skill is limited to producing permanently dormant plants.

I’ve sent the link to the folks I know who keep me away from their gardens (for good reason). Here’s wishing it goes as well as LumberJocks.

I like it. I think the large cutting instrument in the gardner’s hands ties it into the cutting instruments we use in woodworking. A good tie in.
Good luck. I hope it is as successful as LJ’s.

I get to wear the same dirty old bib overalls here and there. Sweet!

Nice… we need more communities with the Flavor of this one.
and now that I’ve got the back yard regraded and all set to garden again after a short hiatus – perfect timing to help plan for next spring!

Never the twain shall meet.
LumberJock (drooling) says, “That’s a nice tree you got there. What is that, pear? That’s a hardwood. Nice figure.”

Martin, I have sent the link to all of my gardening friends. Let’s keep the plaiting going – especially the trees. Without the trees – no wood!
