As many of you noticed, our search results were becoming cluttered by the Store pages. After some research I found that it’s possible to use search refinements in the custom search tool provided by Google. Why stop with the research… I upgraded the search on our site and included following refinements:

  • Forums
  • Projects
  • Blog entries
  • Store
  • All except store

By default, search runs across all of the sections and pages. If you want more specific results just click on the label you’re interested in. Here is the screenshot of the new search results page:

Refining search is a great help. Thanks, and leaving the first search result with store hits. It is a good marketing move, no matter if it was intentional or not. You should leave it that was so that the store gets more exposure.

I’m searching for the author of a Rooster Intarsia entered in the 2007 MN state fair. It won a blue ribbon in the arts and crafts building. I’m wondering if there was a pattern available for this rooster. I know there are other ones available but a friend would like a pattern of this one. It would help a lot if I could post a picture but I don’t know how to do this. It’s a matter of getting it from my computer to this site.

Have your say...
