Hi jocks,

I’ve been thinking about the concept of the contests at LJ in the recent days. I’d like to replace the contests with the “LumberJocks Awards” and have two awards in mind for the coming winter. Here are the logos in progress:

The awards will use much improved voting process that should guarantee as objective results as possible. Basically, there will be no star rating system. Each voter will choose his top 5 entries (in order) and these entries will get points (1st place = 5 points … 5th place = 1 point). The final order will be determined by the total points.

This will prevent voting in order to make any project go down in the ratings (1-star rating in the previous model). Plus each voter will have enough time to study the entries and then decide which to vote for.

Feel free to let me know your opinion on this, please.

It sounds like it should be fair…and even better fun!
