My soulmate is a Creative in every sense of the word. Me? I've meant to fill in these blanks, and add posts and pix and comments and lots of Likes ever since I joined (177 days ago), but I'm a Procrastinator (in every sense of the word), although I have been surfing this site and printing out the gorgeous projects I've found, here, over the past six months. My husband Kenny, after several decades, returned to the art of woodworking in 2012 or so; and we've found that not only the Lumberjocks community of generous tutors and feedback givers, but the amazing pieces we've admired -- starting with the Art Boxes by Andy, who Kenny has elevated to (well-deserved) muse-like status -- have been so inspiring to us both! And I promise to add details soon(er or later). ;-)
Maureen.

been looking at your projects, very beautiful work, i love the inside of your box tops, it sure does add a look that gives the box a real quality to it, you add some really nice details that make the boxes yours, just like Andy has that certain touch to his work, you sure have yours, they inspire me, and make me want to try some of your special touches..welcome to the site, its projects like yours that make me excited to see what something special has been made this week…keep your work coming, i enjoy it very much…grizzman

Thanks to all!
After 276 days, Kenny and I are still in awe of pretty much everything about the LJs site and community; and he says, “A belated Thanks to Rick, A1Jim, and Todd for the welcome,” and in reply to Grizzman, he says:
“You really made my day—it’s very flattering that you mentioned Andy and me in the same sentence.
“Woodwork has been quite a struggle for a while, but every so often I’ll receive a comment like yours that makes my day, so thanks again—it was really nice to hear.”
==

BTW, I didn’t know the Profile Comments section existed until just a few hours ago (when we got Grizzman’s message), so I’ve been taking another look around. I myself am not a woodworker, and although Kenny and I both are amazed by the LJs projects that I print out for him, I regret that I don’t give as many compliments as I know I ought to!

In the meantime, I’ve spent some time using old HTML (from my previous life as a technical editor) trying to fashion a user-friendly blog/website for Kenny. And instead of including the link in my profile settings (simply because I haven’t quite settled on a permanent “look”), it was—and still is!—my intention, when we joined LJs, to post a new project once or twice a month…

Anyway, if you’d care to take a gander (and be forewarned, it’s sometimes in mid-renovation mode), Kenny’s gallery is currently tucked away at:
