I decided I wanted to try a tool roll for carrying around some of my gouges. In looking at different catalogs, they didn’t seem very complicated and I already have a daughter who can sew! So I got some canvas and had her sew me up one that would hold approximately 20 full size tools ( I’m an optimistic kind of carver). That seemed a good size for me, but the pockets were too deep for my palm tools. I eventually came up with the modification shown. I cur a slit in the pocket and used iron-on adhesive to glue back the flaps. This makes it the perfect size for palm tools, but I can still use it for the larger tools also. I imagine that a leather tool roll could be modified by just carefully cutting a slit. Anyways, it holds a good selection of tools and rolls up into a nice little bundle.
