I started a new project for my son this week. It involved some fun with a plow plane to start with.

and then progressed into ripping almost 6 feet of 2” thick ash by hand. Talk about a workout.

I finished the night by jointing the edges by hand and then cheating the rest of the way with an electric planner to bring the boards to 4 sides square.
