Bench Utilities #3: Shooting board and planning stop

I have now added a few more bench hooking utilities to my list. Here is my shooting board that I plan to use to trim end grain. The board has about 14” of landing which should be plenty.

And here is a little planning stop that has alredy come in handy for planning and for chisel work

Nice simple bench aids, and the planing stop can double as a sawing bench hook if you need it to.

Thanks for the comments. The biggest problem I have is that the shooting board revealed that I don’t have any planes with sides square to the sole. This little block and my #4 are close, the others are way off!
